The ribbon cutting for Firestone was held at 11:30 AM at Shadow Lake Towne Center. This new Papillion business gave free lunch and had fun activities scheduled including a race car simulator and a real race car.

Fairfield Inn Ground Breaking in Papillion at Midlands Place

At 9:00 AM, many people came out in Papillion  to show support for the ground breaking of Fairfield Inn on this bitter cold morning, including local officials Congressman Lee Terry, State Senator Jim Smith, Mayor David Black, City Councilman Tom Mumgaard. While the weather was bitter, the smiles and praise for the project and the city of Papillion were sweet.

Here’s a picture of what the Fairfield Inn will look like sans the snow and upon completion.

First Snow and First Hotel in Papillion

Local children were excited by the first snow of the season. Some of them hoping for a day off from school.

For the groundbreaking for Fairfield Inn,  it was a frigid start. The early morning sun shines down in the early hours before the groundbreaking ceremony in our picture below.
