How did you join Sam’s Club as a team member and leader?<\/strong>
\nI started my career with Sam’s Club 17 years ago as a truck unloader in receiving.\u00a0 I worked my way up to an hourly supervisor position on the sales floor within 2 years, then to a management position in my first 3 years.\u00a0 At our new club all the salaried managers began as hourly associates with the company.<\/p>\n

What has been the most rewarding part of working at Sam’s Club?<\/strong>
\nI really enjoy the community involvement side of what we do at Sam’s Club.\u00a0 We are constantly looking for new ways to give back through volunteer work, fundraising and community events to bring awareness to different organizations.\u00a0 I am proud to work for a company that puts so much back into the community.\u00a0 In fact, we will be giving away $22,000 in grants to area non-profits at an associate event on September 22nd at the Kroc Center.<\/p>\n

Why was Papillion chosen for the new location?<\/strong>
\nThe area is growing and the economy is strong.\u00a0 We chose the location to fill the demand in Sarpy County and to support the communities being underserved by the existing Sam’s Club locations.\u00a0 The reaction from the community has been very positive and supportive.<\/p>\n

What did you like about the site location in Papillion?<\/strong>
\nIt is an area where businesses are being added rapidly all along the 72nd street corridor, so it will be a destination spot for many of our members.\u00a0 The intersection of 72nd and Cornhusker is an easy location for local residents to relate to, as they know the location well already.<\/p>\n

How do you see your business fitting into the economic development of the area?<\/strong>
\nThe economy is growing rapidly in Sarpy County.\u00a0 Sam’s Club has a good base of members that are business owners and business leaders.\u00a0 We can help the existing local businesses grow while new businesses establish themselves by utilizing our unique mix of products and pricing.\u00a0 Our individual members will also appreciate the unique mix of merchandise and benefits we offer with membership.<\/p>\n

As the store manager, what is the most exciting part of opening a new location?<\/strong>
\nOne of the most exciting things is being able to instill the Sam’s Club culture in all our new associates coming onboard.<\/p>\n

When is your grand opening?<\/strong>
\nSeptember 25th at 8:30am<\/p>\n

When is your ribbon cutting?<\/strong>
\nSeptember 25th at 8:00am<\/p>\n

What do you have planned for them?<\/strong>
\nWe have many product demonstrations, special items and special pricing on some very exciting items.\u00a0 We will have an Extreme Pumpkin Carver on Saturday the 27th who will be attempting to break several Guinness World Records at our location.<\/p>\n

How many employees will have working at this location?<\/strong>
\nOur goal for grand opening is to have more than 180 associates.<\/p>\n
